A fire that started in a garbage container caused minor damage to a Fond du Lac garage over the weekend.  Shortly after 12;30pm Saturday firefighters were called to a residence on Springs Road for  a fire on the exterior of an attached garage.  A neighbor dialed 911 and alerted the residents who evacuated the home safely.   The fire was quickly extinguished with damage contained to the garage wall and attic above the garage.  Nobody was injured […]

1-31-22 fdl county covid-19 cases continue to drop

There are more signs the Omicron variant surge may have peaked in Fond du Lac County.  After surging in early January, daily cases continued to drop last week with slightly over 100 cases reported on Friday.   Public Health Environmental Health supervisor Danielle Vollendorf says the drop comes following a report from the Mayo Clinic that the Omicron surge in Wisconsin has peaked.  Vollendorf says only 112 cases were confirmed Friday.  There are 13 […]

1-31-22 fdl water main break-street closure

The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works  says  the northbound lane of traffic on National Ave north of Division Street and the westbound lane of traffic on Merrill Avenue east of National Avenue are closed due to a water main break.   The lane closures are currently in place and expected to re-open at the end day, Tuesday February 1.

1-29-22 dodge county bank robbery suspect arrested

An arrest has been made in connection with a bank robbery in Dodge County.  Forty three year old Alan Schade of Columbus has been arrested for the robbery Wednesday afternoon at  the Horicon State Bank in Neosho.  This suspect is also suspected to be involved in a robbery that took place in Jefferson County. Schade was taken into custody Thursday evening and has been booked into the Dodge County Jail.

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — A judge has approved an agreement by lawyers to destroy the assault-style rifle that Kyle Rittenhouse used to kill two people and wound a third during a 2020 street protest in Wisconsin.
