The SSM Health Treffert Center, in partnership with the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin and Southeastern Wisconsin, is holding a one-of-a-kind sensory friendly vaccination clinic for individuals five and older and their families. Treffert Center Autism Services supervisor Megan Puddy says the clinic will be held Saturday February 5 from 8am to noon at the Treffert Center in Fond du Lac. Puddy says the goal is to reduce stress and anxiety for those with Autism or anyone that wants to get vaccinated but is challenged by the typical vaccination setting. Puddy says those participating in the clinic can expect flexibility, patience and support all the way through the vaccination process. During the clinic, participants can expect a lower sensory environment, sensory fidgets, distraction strategies, private rooms, and other individualized accommodations as needed. Register today at https://bit.ly/3nBUYLP. The deadline to sign up for a vaccine appointment is Friday, January 28 at 5 pm.
