Computer modeling at the Mayo Clinic suggest the Omicron variant surge has peaked in Wisconsin and cases are expected to sharply decline in the coming months. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says that’s great news. Mueller says it may already be happening locally where daily case numbers have been lower over the last few days. Still health experts warn that unless more people take vaccines and booster shots more seriously, future surges are inevitable. Just over 59 percent of Wisconsin residents have been fully vaccinated.
