2-2-22 league of women voters of wi director pleased with supreme court ruling

The executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin says she is pleased the state Supreme Court has decided to allow unmanned absentee ballot drop boxes to be used in the February 15 primary.  The court late Friday split 4-3 to leave in place an appeals’ court stay of a circuit judge’s ruling that state law bars the use of unmanned drop boxes.  League director Debra Cronmiller told WFDL news the decision is important with the primary election just a couple weeks out.  The supreme court also agreed to take over a case that will decide whether they should be allowed moving forward.
