A Fond du Lac man was wet and cold, but otherwise okay, after his pickup truck broke through thin ice on Lake Winnebago over the weekend. At about 2:3pm Saturday, the driver dialed 911 on his cellphone to report he had broken through the ice about a half mile north of Frazier Point at Lakeside Park. The 51 year old Fond du Lac man was able to climb out of his pickup and walk to a nearby ice shanty to take shelter until a good samaritan and his UTV and sheriff’s deputies arrived to bring him back to shore where he was evaluated by paramedics. Other than being extremely cold, the man did not report any injuries and was released at the scene.
