Longtime North Fond du Lac High School varsity girls basketball coach Gary Kuehl is being inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Kuehl has been an educator in the North Fond du Lac School District since 1987, and head basketball coach for 31 years. During his tenure Kuehl’s teams have won more than 400 games, gone to state four times, placing runner-up in 1996 before winning a Division 3 state championship in 1997 and again in 2000. Under Kuehl the Lady Orioles have captured seven conference championships, seven regional championships, and four sectional championships. Kuehl says the philosophy that he has always tried to instill in his players is that “The best team doesn’t always win, the team that plays the best does.” He will be honored at halftime of the boys varsity basketball game in North Fond du Lac on Thursday, February 24.
