3-1-22 fdl school board approves administrative reorganization hirings

The Fond  du Lac School Board has approved the hiring of five individuals as part of an administrative reorganization plan designed to boost student achievement.    Fond du Lac School District superintendent, Dr. Jeff Fleig, says High School principal Matt Steinbarth has been selected as the Chief of Schools and Educational Accountability.  “Matt’s primary job is to oversee the day to day operations of our schools, work with principals day to day, human resource issues, teaching-learning issues,”  Dr. Fleig told WFDL news.  “He’s going to oversee math, science, providing some necessary help from the standpoint of managing day to day operations in our schools as well as in the areas of teaching and learning.”   Four other individuals have been hired as coordinators of Math, ELA and Literacy Services.   Meanwhile, Dr. Fleig says the administration is entering into a partnership with the University of Virginia Partnership with Leaders in Education.   Dr. Fleig says the goal of the partnership is to increase student achievement.  “There are four main levers.  “Number one is development of the principals and teachers. Number two is support accountability.  Three:  Talent management.  Making sure we are taking our current educators and making sure we are making them better, as well as recruiting, and four,  do we have a structural foundation which includes assessments and curriculum to change outcomes?”  Dr. Fleig says he is “excited about it” and says “Its going to be transformational for our system.”
