The Fond du Lac County Sheriff says an incident over the weekend shows how valuable two drones are, in this case, tracking down high speed chase suspects. With the help of two drones sheriff’s deputies were able to arrest two individuals who had fled their vehicle after it crashed in the Eldorado Marsh. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says without the drones it would have taken a lot longer, and with more risk involved, in searching for the suspects. Waldschmidt says one of the suspects tried unsuccessfully to hide from the drone. “He was quite frustrated by the drone. One of the first things he said when our deputies got to him was that we’re persistent and that drone overhead is pretty intimidating.” Both suspects were arrested without incident.
