The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office stepped up enforcement this past weekend as part of a speed grant enforcement campaign. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says its tied in with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations which continued during the weekend. Tadych says to date there have already been four traffic fatalities in Fond du Lac County this year. “Three of the four fatalities were on (Highway) 151 and all four fatalities were alcohol-related,” Tadych told WFDL news. Tadych says the Sheriff’s Office is also talking with the Bureau of Transportation to potentially get more funds to step up OWI and speeding enforcement.
