The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says the deaths of three children from the flu is a reminder of the importance of getting a flu shot. The state Department of Health Services last week confirmed the deaths of three children due to complications from the flu. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says every year there are pediatric deaths associated with influenza. Mueller says none of the children who died were vaccinated and says it’s not too late to get a flu shot. DHS says the number of flu cases and hospital admissions are rising throughout the state.
