A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain says authorities did a good job of directing traffic off Interstate 41 when a power pole snapped after catching fire. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says electrical wires were dangling over the Interstate Tuesday night south of Fond du Lac, resulting in the closure of the roadway for eight hours. Tadych says fortunately a detour of traffic onto Highway 175 went smoothly. “It takes an effort by all the different agencies, state patrol, Dodge County, Lomira PD, and even a DNR warden helped stopped traffic and then get everyone diverted to Highway 175,” Tadych told WFDL news. “With that much traffic, it’s an undertaking at times.”
