3-28-22 fdl fire chief pete o’leary retiring

Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary is retiring.  O’Leary is stepping down April 13 after more than 30 years in fire service, the last 13 years as Fond du Lac Fire Chief.  During his tenure the Fond du Lac Fire Department received Accreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International  for the first time in the Department’s history.  Chief O’Leary led the effort to develop a state of the art Public Safety Training Facility, to enhance the training capability and the performance of the department.  Chief O’Leary also led the development of a facility modernization plan forthe city’s three fire stations. Two of Chief O’Leary’s leadership team have gone on to become Fire Chiefs – Steve Beer in Hutchinson, Kansas and Troy Haase in Portage, Wisconsin.
