A Milwaukee man convicted in the fentanyl overdose death of a Waupun man is going to prison. Sonny Vincent Lawrence has been sentenced to 11 years in prison followed by 15 years extended supervision for providing the drugs that led to the death of Austin Vande Zande at a Fond du Lac residence in March 2020. District Attorney Eric Toney says Fond du Lac County experienced nearly 50 fentanyl related overdose deaths from 2020 through 2021. That compares to a total of approximately 16 fentanyl related overdose related deaths from 2007 through 2019.
