The Waupun Emergency Management director says a tornado outbreak just before last Christmas shows that severe weather can happen at any time of the year. In December of lawst year, Wisconsin had 10 tornado touchdowns reported in a single day. Waupun Emergency Management director and Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says it wasn’t too long ago when there was a tornado outbreak in Fond du Lac County. In 2018, 11 tornadoes touched down in the southwest portion of Fond du Lac County. This week is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, a time to be prepared, and think about what you would do in the event of a tornado or severe weather.
