A Fond du Lac man is in custody and was treated for minor injuries following a high speed chase that ended in a crash. The chase started shortly after 1:30am Saturday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle at Lakeshore Drive and Kinker Road. The pursuit ended when the vehicle approached Lakeshore Drive and West Scott Street, left the road impacting multiple trees. The driver, a 34 year old Fond du lac man , attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. A 20 year old passenger from Fond du Lac was also detained, but later released. During the chase the driver had discarded an item out of the vehicle during the pursuit, which was later recovered and suspected to be drug-related contraband. The driver was treated at St. Agnes Hospital for minor injuries and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail. He faces multiple charges including felony fleeing an officer, multiple drug related charges, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and traffic citations as a result of the pursuit. Additionally, the driver had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest through Probation and Parole. The pursuit covered a distance of approximately 4.5 miles.
