4-14-22 retirement ceremony for fdl fire chief pete o’leary

Longtime Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary is stepping down.  A retirement ceremony was held Wednesday at the South Main Street Fire Station for  O’Leary  who is stepping down after  more than 30 years in fire service, the last 13 years as Fond du Lac Fire Chief.   During his tenure  Chief O’Leary led the effort to develop a state of the art Public Safety Training Facility, to enhance the training capability and the performance of the department.  Chief O’Leary also led the development of a facility modernization plan for the city’s three fire stations.  Assistant chief Erik Gerritsen has been named interim Fire Chief.
