4-21-22 central wisconsin christian school expansion project approved

Central Wisconsin Christian School in Waupun is moving forward with the largest expansion project in school history.   The nearly $17 million project was approved by a vote of 115 to one at the school’s annual meeting  this week.  Groundbreaking was held this spring on the first phase to expand the middle school.  The second and largest phase of the project would add nearly 15,000 square feet at the High School, and 15,000 square feet of elementary classroom space.   Future phases of the plan include new music classrooms and fine arts performance spaces, and an athletic complex.  The current middle school expansion  will be ready for occupancy in August, with the other classroom phases slated to be available for students in the fall of 2023.    “This vote stands as another historical step in the life of Central Wisconsin Christian,”   Director of Advancement Gregg Zonnefeld said.  “The Legacy Vision is an all-encompassing expansion that will touch every student at CWC both now and for generations to come,  expanding to meet the needs of  students now and in the foreseeable future with Christ-centered  education.”     Each portion of the project would begin when 70% of cash and pledges for that particular portion have been committed. To date the school has surpassed the $6 million plateau, making a fall groundbreaking for the classroom portion a distinct reality.
