Nobody was injured in a small fire that was quickly extinguished at the Press Box Tavern in Fond du Lac.  Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 7pm Wednesday and discovered the fire in a small area on the outside wall  of the building.  Interim Fire Chief Erik Gerritson says a discarded cigarette is apparently to blame.  The building was evacuated and later reopened.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The provost at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and four others from out of state have been named as finalists to lead the UW-Madison flagship campus. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The latest Marquette University Law School poll shows Wisconsin voters are growing more pessimistic. The poll released Wednesday showed that 36% of respondents had a favorable view of Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, with 46% unfavorable. Democratic Gov. The Fond du Lac School Board is expected to hire an architectural and engineering firm for a new artificial turf football stadium at their next meeting.   At a workshop session this week the school board reviewed four bids  ranging from $233,500 to just over $291,000.  Earlier this year the school board approved spending up to $5.3 million for stadium construction.  "I think we're going to look at a grandstand that will hold […]
