4-27-22 fdl garage fire

Nobody was injured in a Fond du Lac garage fire.  Shortly after 3:30pm Tuesday firefighters were called to 598 South Military Road.  Interim Fire Chief Erick Gerritson says crews quickly knocked down the fire before it could spread to a nearby garage.  One vehicle inside the garage is a total loss and the garage was extensively damaged.   The cause of the fire is under investigation. photo: fdl fire and rescue

4-27-22 body found in lake winnebago identified

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office has identified the Fond du Lac man found near the western shore of Lake Winnebago over the weekend.  Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says  the victim has been identified as 57 year old  Thomas D. 4-26-22 investigators say fire that destroyed fdl home started on front porch

The cause of a fire that destroyed a house in Fond du Lasc and damaged two neighboring homes remains under investigation.   Interim Fire Chief Eric Gerritson says the smoke alarms  inside the East Bank Street home were working, but it appears the fire started on the porch.  Gerritson says  at this point investigators aren't sure if the fire was caused by smoking materials or an electrical issue.  Gerritson says it's fortunate nobody […]
