6-1-22 wi lawmakers sign off on pollution settlements

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin lawmakers have signed off on $378,000 in settlements of nine pollution lawsuits. The settlement payments to the state approved Tuesday by the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee range from $5,000 to $160,000 and involve lawsuits against cities, small and large farms, a dairy farm and others. FOX CROSSING, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a 43-year-old woman died when she jumped out of a squad car while it was traveling through a town in eastern Wisconsin. 5-31-22 fdl police investigating snapchat threat against fdl high school students

Classes at Fond du Lac High School have been cancelled Tuesday and police are investigating following a social media threat targeting students  at the High School.  Police received infomation Monday afternoon of a threat on Snapchat threatening gun violence at the school.  The Snapchat referenced  an 11th and 12th grader having a gun and that the school may get shot up Tuesday.  The police department says this incident remains under active investigation.  Anyone with information […]

(AP) — A World War II veteran has died the day after receiving a congressional medal.   Raleigh Nayes of Chippewa Falls was part of Merrill's Marauders, a unit of several thousand U.S. soldiers who attacked the Japanese from behind their lines in Burma in 1944.
