The Fond du Lac School District superintendent says supply chain issues could impact the start of construction on a new artificial turf football field at Fond du Lac High School. The Fond du Lac School Board this week voted to hire an architecture and Engineering firm to develop a design plan for the High School stadium project. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says the goal is to break ground next year, but he says supply chain issues are causing delays when it comes to steel that will be needed for building the bleachers. “There are substantial issues there right now,” Fleig told WFDL news. “It might be fixed in a few months, but we don’t know. There are some challenges there.” The Fond du Lac School Board earlier voted to spend up to $5.3 million for the project. Dr. Fleig says the other concern is the impact that inflation may have on the project cost once construction starts.
