A Fond du Lac man is in custody following a domestic incident and subsequent high speed chase. Shortly after 6am Wednesday police were called to an apartment in the 100 block of South National Avenue for a report of a domestic incident involving a handgun. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle near 15th and South Main Streets, but the driver failed to pull over and fled, reaching speeds of approximately 65 MPH traveling through areas in the southeast and south-central portions of the City before the chase was terminated in the area of S. Main and 13th Streets back near the area where the pursuit began. Police and Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimter in the immediate area and two individuals were quickly located and detained including the suspect, a 21 year old Fond du Lac man. The other individual was identified as a 16-year-old Fond du Lac resident who was later released to family. The incident remains under investigation.
