A Waupun man has been convicted of killing his grandmother. A Fond du Lac jury has found Gregory Spittel guilty of multiple charges including second degree reckless homicide in the August 2019 beating death of 75 year old Carol Foreman. The verdict was reached after the jury listened to five days of testimony last week and closing arguments Monday. The jury heard testimony that Spittel was upset Foreman spoke to police about his drug use causing him to lose custody of his children. Police say Spittel assaulted Foreman in the basement of his Waupun home, repeatedly striking her in the head. Bond was continued at $1 million cash bail. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 20.
