President Joe Biden is seeking to calm concerns about recent cases of monkeypox that have been identified in Europe and the United States. He says he does not see the need to institute strict quarantine measures. Biden says he does not think monkeypox rises to the level of concern that existed with COVID-19. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says while the fear of an outbreak is undestandable, monkeypox is unlikely to cause another pandemic. Mueller says though rare and usually mild, monkeypox cn still potentially cause severe illness. Health officials are concerned that more cases will arise with increased travel.
