Fond du Lac County Board chairman Sam Kaufman may be the only person on the ballot for a special election next month for county executive, but he’s not taking anything for granted. Kaufman says he is out there campaigning as if someone is running against him. Kaufman says he is campaigning for the office to show respect for the citizens of Fond du lac County. The special election is being held following the death last month of longtime county executive Al Buechel. Buechel died March 27 from a heart attack. He was 74.
