A Heat Advisory remains in effect for most of the area until 8 PM CDT this evening, for heat index values up to 100 degrees.
Severe storms along and ahead of a cold front are expected to move eastward through the area later this afternoon and evening, before exiting to the east around midnight. Tornadoes, large hail to 2 inches or greater in diameter, and damaging winds above 70 MPH are all possible. Stay weather aware this afternoon and evening.
