Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says he is pleased with the U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade. “It was the right decision,” Grothman told WFDL news. “It’s been a long time in coming.” But Grothman says he doesn’t think the ruling will have as big of an immediate impact as some people think, and says the long term impact will be determined by where the churches stand on it. Grothman says people in the western half of the state who want an abortion will go to Minnesota and people in the southeast part of the state will go to Illinois. Abortion rights advocates say the decision inordinately affects poor people and could lead to the needless deaths of desparate women.
