Nobody was seriously injured in a multiple vehicle chain-reaction series of crashes that shut down a portion of southbound Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac County over the holiday weekend. Shortly after 10:30pm Saturday a semi-tractor rear-ended a tree-service truck on 41 near Townline Road. The semi overturned, spilling diesel fuel and other debris in the road, causing two other crashes. A southbound vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a town of Eldorado Fire Service truck. The driver of the vehicle, a 49 year old Brookfield man, was arrested for operating while under the influence of an intoxicating substance and recklessly endangering safety. The secondary crashes did not result in any injuries although the driver of the tree service truck received minor injuries. Southbound 41 was closed between County Highways N and OO for three hours until the scene was cleared.
