A dog rescued from Lake Winnebago on the Fourth of July has been reunited with it’s owner. The Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center received a call Monday morning of a yellow lab mix wandering near Harbor View Drive and Mohawk Avenue. Sheriff’s captain, Bill Tadych, says the dog had earlier run away from home apparently scared by the sound of fireworks. When officers approached the dog jumped in the lake. With the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Boat Patrol the pooch was rescued almost a mile from shore. The owner, from the Taycheeda area, saw a post on the Humane Society Facebook page and picked up his pet at the animal shelter.
