A counselor with SSM Health Behavioral Health in Fond du Lac says mass shootings this year are taking an emotional toll on everyone. Keziah Love says many parents may be wondering what to say to their children following mass shootings at a school in Uvalde, Texas and more recently at the Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois. “We’re all saying will we get a break? Can we just take a breath? It has come to the point where it’s tragedy after tragedy,” Love told WFDL news. Love says it’s important to acknowledge your child’s feelings, but at the same time assuring them that it’s still safe to go to school or a parade.
