The Fond du Lac city council last week got a sneak peek at what’s in store for next year’s police department budget. Chief Aaron Goldstein says in addition to personnel costs, phase two of a department remodeling project will be included in the 2023 budget. “We have thoughtfully and a fiscally created a plan to renovate our police department,” Goldstein told WFDL news. “We love being downtown. We love our location. We just have to make sure we are providing the necessary spaces into the future.” Goldstein says other capital purchases include squad car replacements and computers for those squads. City departments are making their budget presentations starting this month, with a proposed 2023 budget delivered to the city council August 26.
