The Fond du Lac School  Board has selected Andrea Schultz to fill a vacant Board position.  Schultz replaces Tim Weddle who  resigned from the Board earlier this month after moving  out of the district.  Schultz was selected out of a field of six applicants.  Others who submitted letters of interest for the vacancy were Maria Athanasiou, Emily Hayes, Dusty Krikau, Amy Medina,  and Mitch Swanson.  The appointment begins on August 8, 2022. 7-25-22 fdl vehicle fire

Nobody was injured in a vehicle fire in Fond du Lac.   The fire Sunday  morning significantly damaged a van parked on East 10th Street just off Park Avenue.  When firefighters arrived on the scene the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

7-25-22 fdl county fairgrounds swimming pool vandalized

The Fond  du Lac County Fairgrounds swimming pool has reopened a day after it was closed because of vandalism.  Fond du Lac Public Works director Paul DeVries says the pool was cleaned up by staff and was operating regular hours on Sunday.  Law enforcement is continuing its investigation into the vandalism incident.

7-25-22 severe storms roll through wisconsin

Severe thunderstorms rolled through Wisconsin Saturday night, knocking down trees and power lines in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties.  Fond du Lac County Emergency Management director Bobbie Hicken says fortunately there were no injuries or significant structural damage reported.  A power outage was reported in Waupun.  The storms forced the Fond du Lac County Fair to shut down early.

7-25-22 packers report profits above pre-pandemic levels

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers’ revenues and profits soared above their pre-pandemic levels over the last year as they capitalized on the opportunity to play in full stadiums again. The Packers reported revenues of $579 million. That marks a 56% increase over its 2021 total of $371.1 million and a 14.2% rise over its 2020 totals of $506.9 million.
