Democratic Governor Tony Evers made a campaign stop in Fond du Lac Wednesday to highlight his proposed $600 million tax cut. The governor held a roundtable discussion at Moraine Park Technical College. The governor talked about his proposed child care tax credit, cap on insulin co-pay, 10 percent income tax cut, and property tax cut for disabled veterans. “The tax plans we are looking at I think are viable and important for people but we also need to understand that’s just the starting point,” Evers told WFDL news. Evers says his plan would use a portion of the state’s surplus to provide tax relief to support working families and address rising costs due to inflation. “Most important part of it is we’re living in a situation where we have a huge surplus in Madison, We want to make sure that surplus is used in a good way,” Evers said. The governor also is proposing repealing the minimum markup on gasoline.
