The Fond du Lac city council is beginning the process of reviewing a proposed 2023 budget that includes a decrease in the tax rate. The council held a budget workshop session Wednesday night. Council president Patrick Mullen says the biggest capital improvement item in the budget is what’s called a bio-solids dryer at the wastewater treatment plant. Also in the budget are funds to build a bridge over the Fond du Lac River connecting Lakeside Park to Lakeside Park West. Mullen says construction on the bridge will begin next year and will make it easier for people to access Lakeside Park West. A public hearing on the budget will be held next week.
