A North Fond du lac man convicted of setting multiple fires in Fond du Lac County is going to prison for a long time. Fond du Lac County Circuit judge Tricia Walker has sentenced Michael Miller to 25 years in prison followed by 25 years extended supervision. In June Miller was convicted on multiple counts Arson, Possession of Child Pornography, Reckless Endangering Safety, Burglary, and Criminal Damage to Property. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says the sentence was appropriate. “It was a lengthy sentence which matched the crimes committed by the defendant,” Toney told WFDL news. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says Miller was arrested two years ago after investigators received a tip following several fires in North Fond du Lac and the town of Friendship, and learned he was involved in other fires as well. According to a criminal complaint Miller admitted to using underwear stolen from area laundromats, children’s swimsuits and rags to set the fires.
