With college students settling in on campus, the Better Business Bureau in Wisconsin is warning residents to guard against the so-called grandparent scam. BBB Northeast Wisconsin Regional Director Susan Bach says the scammer will call family members pretending to be a child or grandchild asking for money. Bach says if you receive a call like this resist requests to send money immediately. Ask for a phone number to contact the person back, then check with other relatives to confirm the location of the person in question.
