Investigators say a woman who was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 41 in Winnebago and Fond du Lac counties was apparently suffering from some mental issues. Shortly after 11pm Monday the Winnebago County Dispatch Center notified the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office that the woman had told authorities she was being held against her will. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Chris Dobyns says the chase, at Interstate speeds, started on 41 near Highway 76 in Winnebago County and ended when the vehicle ran over stop sticks placed on 41 near Townline Road in Fond du Lac County. Dobyns says it’s fortunate that the vehicle didn’t strike any other vehicles on the Interstate. The woman, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody.
