The Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue HazMat team helped clean up a hazardous material leak from a semi-tractor trailer on Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac. At 8:30pm Monday law enforcement pulled over the semi on southbound 41 just south of Highway 151 after noticing a substance leaking from the rear cargo doors. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue personnel used absorbent material to prevent the leak from spreading on the ground. HazMat Technicians discovered a 55-gallon steel drum containing a flammable ink product had been punctured, leaking its entire contents into the back of the trailer. Technicians placed absorbent pads, pillows, and socks at the rear of the trailer to stop the flow of product onto the ground. A contracted clean-up company was called to the scene to finish cleaning up the product.
