11-1-22 republican senator johnson confident heading into the home stretch

Republican U.S. senator Ron Johnson says he is confident heading down the home stretch to the November election.  Johnson made a campaign stop in Fond du Lac Friday.   “As Ronald Reagan famously asked a few decades ago are you better off after two years of Democratic policies and Democratic governance?”   Johnson says when you consider 40 year high inflation, record high gasoline prices, skyrocketing crime most people would  say  “we’re worse off.”   The incumbent senator has downplayed the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol and the House panel that’s investigating the insurrection and what role former president Trump may have played in the insurrection.  “It’s a highly partisan panel, they’re not getting the full story,”  Johnson told AM 1170s Between the Lines program.   “They’re also, as is the main-stream media, ignoring 570 riots that occurred during the summer of 2020 in which 2000 law enforcement officials were injured, a couple dozen people lost their lives including two in Kenosha.”
