A Fond du Lac man received non life-threatening injuries when he apparently accidentally shot himself in the hand with a 9mm handgun.  The incident happened at a residence Friday night in the 800 block of Security Drive.   The 48 year old victim was treated at St. Agnes Hospital.

Charges of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide have been referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney's Office against a Fond du Lac man following a domestic disturbance in Fond du Lac.   When police officers responded to a residence December 20 the suspect had already left the scene.   Witnesses say he made statements that he wanted to kill the victim.   He later turned himself in to police.  In addition to attempted homicide  the […]

Nobody was injured in a fire that started in the garbage can in the kitchen of a Fond du Lac home.  Shortly after 10am Thursday firefighters were called to a home at 646 Ledgeview Blvd.   The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived.  The first arriving units extinguished smoldering material, removed debris and made sure fire had not extended to the adjacent combustibles.  Two occupants of […]

Dodge County District Attorney Kurt F. Klomberg has announced he is stepping down.  Klomberg submitted  his resignation Thursday to Governor Tony Evers effective January 13.  Klomberg has served as the District Attorney since 2010.  Over the more than twenty years of his legal career, Klomberg  served as prosecutor in  Dodge, Marathon and Kenosha counties. 12-29-22 man loses fingers in snowblower accident

A Fond du Lac County man was transported to the hospital over the weekend after getting his fingers caught in a snowblower.  Sheriff's captain Bill Tadych says rescue personnel were called to the scene Sunday on County Highway AS.  "Older gentleman got his fingers caught in a snowblower and he lost a couple fingers,"  Tadych told WFDL news.  "He was having a legitmate medical emergency.  Two tow truck drivers assisted us […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Rib Mountain State Park is set to get a facelift. The state Department of Natural Resources policy board earlier this month approved a new master plan for the park near Wausau. A Green Bay radio magnate who built Midwest Communications into a multistate operation has died. According to an obituary from Lyndahl Funeral Home, Duey “Duke” Wright passed away on Dec. 21 at age 83. He moved to Green Bay in 1976, expanding Midwest Communications to more than 80 radio stations in nine states.
