A Fond du Lac man wanted on a reckless homicide charge has been arrested following an altercation with police officers. Shortly after 5pm Wednesday a Fond du Lac police officer observed the suspect riding a bicycle on 6th Street. The suspect stopped but did not respond to the officer’s verbal commands. According to police the suspect threw chunks of concrete striking a squad car, and an officer in the leg, and making threats of violence toward the officers on the scene. An officer deployed what was described as a less lethal impact round striking the suspect in the leg, knocking the suspect to the ground, and taking him into custody. The officer that was struck by the concrete received minor injuries. A second officer received a minor hand injury while taking the suspect into custody. The 40-year-old male suspect was transported to the hospital for medical clearance before being taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail on several criminal charges in addition to the probation warrant. The investigation into this incident is at the preliminary stages and remains under active investigation.
