Bail has been set at a million dollars cash for a Fond du Lac man accused of trying to kill his mother by repeatedly striking her in the head with a hammer. Thirty three year old Aristotle Wurtz is charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide, domestic abuse use of a dangerous weapon. According to a criminal complaint Wurtz admitted to detectives on January 26 he tried to kill his mother at their Martin Avenue residence and wanted to kill his father too because “They were being mean to God and Goddess.” Wurtz suffers from schizophrenia according to the complaint. According to the complaint the victim was struck in the head approximately 30 times. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 3.
