A Fond du Lac man arrested after an altercation with police has made his initial court appearance. Forty year old Eric Tolonen is charged with two counts of battery to a law enforcement officer , disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and resisting all as a repeat offender. Bail was set at $2,000 cash. Tolonen was arrested last week after throwing chunks of concrete, striking an officer and a squad and refusing to obey verbal commands. Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says an officer fired what’s called an eXact iMpact 40mm sponge round striking Tolonen in the leg, knocking him to the ground. Goldstein says the entire incident lasted approximately five minutes. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 2.
