The hottest music act in Wisconsin is back on stage this weekend performing at their largest venue to date. The Astronomers are in concert Saturday night at the Meyer Theatre in Green Bay. “We’re ready to go!” lead singer Michael Stensland told WFDL news. Stensland and Ben Baker formed the group in 2019 as students at UW Oshkosh. Today their monthly listeners on Spotify hovers around 700,000 with their hit single “Overthinking” topping five million streams. “To see that song start from the ground up with Ben and I making it in a spare bedroom now surpass five million streams is really something,” Stensland said. Several of the group’s songs have been played on radio stations across the country including in Wisconsin on Sunny 97.7 in Fond du Lac and WIXX-Green Bay. Recently the band, including Ike Holzmann on bass and Josh Guy on drums, just completed a tour that included concerts in Minneapolis, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and the Rock Boat cruise to the Dominican Republic and Bahamas. The Astronomers, with opener Arts Fishing Club from Nashville, will perform at 7:30pm Saturday at the Meyer Theatre in Green Bay. Tickets are $20 in advance at ticketstaronline.com, 800-895-0071 and $25 at the Resch Center box office the day of the show.
