A Wausau man is in custody following a standoff with police at a Fond du Lac residence. Shortly before 6pm Thursday police were called to the 200 block of East Rees Street for a report of a man inside a home who was refusing to leave the residence and had a felony warrant. Officers contacted a woman who had safely left the residence, and learned the suspect did not live there and made comments that he would kill himself or have officers shoot him instead of going back to jail. The suspect also indicted he had armed himself with three knives. After negotiating with the suspect for about one hour, he exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident. The 50-year-old Wausau man was arrested on charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, resisting, and the felony warrant and is held at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
