A Brandon man was arrested following a hit and run involving a sheriff’s squad car and short chase. Shortly after 9pm Sunday Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputies were conducting a welfare check on a person walking on Forest Avenue east of Townline Road. As deputies were speaking with the individual an eastbound vehicle accelerated, swerved left of center nearly striking the three deputies and citizen, and hitting the bumper of one of the squad cars. One of the deputies was able to catch up to the suspect, pulling the vehicle over on Esterbrook Road south of Highway 23. A 22 year old Brandon man was arrested and faces charges of Recklessly Endangering Safety.
