An electric scooter program in Fond du Lac that appeared to start out strong has come to an end after one year. Community Development director Dyann Benson says the Bird Scooter electric scooters will not be returning to Fond du Lac this year. Benson says there was good ridership at the beginning, but by the end of the summer ridership started to taper off. Riders could activate the e-scooters through Bird’s free mobile phone app and use them anywhere in the city.
