WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is dismissing concerns over his age and his polling numbers after releasing his first 2024 reelection campaign ad. The president insisted Wednesday he feels “excited” about his prospects in the race. He swatted away a 42% job approval rating in part by reminding people how most politicians running for reelection end up in roughly the same boat. At an afternoon news conference, Biden predicted the country was “on the verge of turning the corner in a way we haven’t in a long time.” As for his age, Biden said it didn’t register with him — he’s just there to get the job done.  The Biden campaign said the ad is airing as part of a seven-figure, two-week media buy in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
