4-27-23 campbellsport man arrested following armed standoff

A Campbellsport man was arrested following an armed standoff with Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies.  Shortly after 9pm Wednesday the Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center received a report  of a domestic, disorderly conduct incident in the village of Campbellsport.  The caller  reported the suspect was armed and verbally threatening to shoot and kill people. When deputies arrived the  suspect was yelling at them to shoot him and residents  in the vicinity were evacuated or sheltered in place.  After nearly three hours of negotiations, the  SWAT team deployed less lethal beanbag rounds striking the suspect, who then fled on foot.  A K9 was deployed biting the suspect who dropped the gun and he was taken into custody.
