Periods of heavy rain prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flood advisory for Fond du Lac County Wednesday afternoon.  The advisory was issued following heavy rain due to thunderstorms that resulted in minor flooding and ponding of water in low-lying and poor drainage areas in the Fond du Lac area.

A high speed chase suspect was captured in Fond du Lac County with the help of a drone.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff's captain, Bill Tadych, says the chase started shortly after 9:30pm Tuesday in Winnebago County.   Tadych says the suspect fled the vehicle in the area  between Interstate 41 and Highway 151 and Lost Arrow Road.  Tadych says the Sheriff's Office drone spotted the suspect running in a field and the suspect […]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Green Bay man has been sentenced to life in prison for a drug-related killing in which prosecutors said the victim’s body was later burned at his order. Thirty-four-year-old Pedro Santiago-Marquez was sentenced Tuesday in Brown County Circuit Court to life in prison with the possibility of release on extended supervision in July 2064. The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works would like to inform the motoring public the closure of East First Street from Park Avenue to Everett Street. The closure will begin Thursday, June 1 and will reopen end of day Friday, June 2. The closure will be in place to allow the water utility to replace and restore a lead service on South Park Avenue.

Three area students who intend to pursue careers in health care have been awarded scholarships from the SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital Medical Staff.   Scholarship recipients were chosen from among area high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in health care. TORONTO (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers designated hitter/outfielder Jesse Winker was put on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a cervical strain.  The move was made retroactive to Sunday.  Winker, 29, is batting .204 with a .315 on-base percentage and .231 slugging percentage in 39 games this season.  Although Winker hit 24 home runs with Cincinnati as recently as 2021, when he made an All-Star Game appearance, he hasn’t homered at all this season.
